2018 American Open Series 2

At times I know it can be difficult for folks to force a smile.  But for the most part at the AO2, people respected each other's space, minimal adult tantrums occurred, and weightlifters were sharing platforms and they weren't even rolling their eyes about it!!!  This makes my job so much easier.  Happy folks makes for happy photos.  That and less of me hyperventilating.

A Weekend of Florida and Weightlifting

Counter Balance Technique

To maintain the vertical integrity of the CCGS, the forward trunk inclination is counterbalanced by the rearward movement of the pelvis/butt.   The authors suggest that the most effective mechanics for the half squat involve the continuum of counterbalance of the COG shift between forward movement of upper trunk and rearward movement of the pelvis/butt.

A Week In Review: August 20th

  When you see someone squatting it seems like such a simple exercise. Simple, but deceiving.  When I first started weightlifting, my coach had to go over how to squat properly.  I went back to basics and even still now I find myself having to pay close attention to my body.  Otherwise everything goes to shit.  For me, it is not an easy movement.
