“I started weightlifting in the Fall of 2016 after deciding to transition from swimming to weightlifting. Weightlifting started to interest me as a sport when I was in High School but due to my focus on swimming at the time I never trained for it except maybe messing around with the lifts here and there. When I started training specifically for weightlifting in 2016 I was still a student at Arizona State so I would train after class in the student rec center.”

I 122% drank all the kool aide Crossfit had to offer. I didn’t (and still don’t) care what others said about Crossfit being a high risk of injury. I also forget about wanting “killer legs”. I dove into push ups, burpees, air squats, 400/800 m runs, slam balls, wallballs, kettle bell swings, box jumps, double unders, pull ups, sit ups and thrusters – wholeheartedly. I loved crossfit, I still do, probably always will.
