Before you go on to read this post, please take a moment to appreciate the beautiful photo.  Levi, the itty-bitty peanut pictured here, was the youngest spectator at Youth Nationals, which was held in Atlanta, Georgia just last month.  Caleb and Kelly, Levi's parents, had several youth weightlifters competing and Kelly was due to have her son the same week.

Below, a detailed timeline of events  leading up to Nationals.

Don't you love the sophisticated timeline? LOL Kelly is the ultimate super hero.

Kelly is the ultimate super hero.

At one point during the weekend, Caleb was going to have 2 weightlifters on different platforms lifting.  Without hesitation, Kelly arrived at the convention center ready to coach, with baby sling and all.

"I needed to be there for them." -Kelly

From the corner of my eye I saw Kelly walk in the warm up area and I literally said out loud, "OH MY GOSH!!!  That woman just had a baby!".  I promise that I refrained from being the creepy lady, hovering over her newborn and just admired the awesome sight from afar.

But there was more!!!!

During a break in between taking photos, I noticed Kelly near one of the platforms.  She was holding her son, and she was COACHING!!!!!!  It was marvelous.

Ryan quickly picked up his camera and captured this moment here.  (I added all his  photos because Levi is just so precious).

"How?"
"Why?"
"Who is she?"
"Someone give her a chair!"

Ryan introduced us via email so I could have all the questions answered and more.

Their Story

A few days prior to talking to the Williams, I shared with my coach how excited I was about the blog post and photo.

"Caleb and Kelly Williams? That's cool, they've been in weightlifting for awhile.  You knew that, riiight?"

"Oh yeah, I totally know who they are!" ***Silence***

After talking to Caleb and Kelly they were more than just coaches that enjoyed the sport of weightlifting.  Both at one point were coached under Zygmunt Smalcerz, competed at Worlds and they have an extensive knowledge of the sport.

Peak Strength & Fitness

Every day, with the exception of Sundays, you can find Caleb and Kelly running classes, programming and assessing athletes at Peak Strength & Fitness. I encourage all of you to check out their blog.  A wealth of free information is available and now the website is bookmarked on my computer. Thank you Caleb and Kelly for the great content.

In addition to running classes at Peak Strength & Fitness, they coach their weightlifting team, Williams Weightlifting.  The weightlifters are made up of a broad range of weightlifters from youth to masters.  They program for athletes in house and as well as across the country.

THE WILLIAMS

Welcome to the world Levi! He and Kelly are both doing great... Rex is pumped to be a big brother!

Curious about work-life balance for the Williams, I had to ask how it has been like for them being parents and coaches.  With the responsibilities that come with running a gym and taking care of their members, they manage it all by relying on one another and the fantastic team of coaches they have at Peak Strength and Fitness.  The foundation and dedication is the heart and soul of their family.

Thank you Caleb and Kelly for taking the time to share a bit about your lives as everyday people. :)  All the best!
